Did you know ...Victims of child abuse in Florida:

  • Every 10 minutes, a Florida child suffers abuse or neglect.

  • More than 50,000 children are abused or neglected every year.

  • Every week, two children die at the hands of an abuser.

  • 130 of Florida’s children died from abuse or neglect in 2011, the most recent year for which statistics are available.

  • 83 percent of the children were under age 5

  • Of the perpetrators, 86 percent were parents or stepparents.

  • One child suffering from abuse or neglect is one too many. Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education.

FYI...Great Give May 5-6

Mark your calendar! On May 5-6, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 5 p.m., Grandma's Place is participating in The Great Give Palm Beach & Martin Counties, a 24-hour online giving event led by the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, United Way of Palm Beach County, and United Way of Martin County. Your donation will go a long way in helping us provide care to abused and neglected children who have been removed from their homes. Plus, gifts made that day will receive a portion of bonus funds - making your dollar go even further than it would on any other day. We hope you will consider supporting us on May 5-6, and please remember – 24-hours can change our community!
